U.S. DOE Windows Roadmap Meeting at the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) Annual Meeting

March 2, 2006

The Building Technologies Program at the U.S. Department of Energy works in partnership with industry to develop the next generation of windows that will contribute to our goal of zero energy buildings. DOE′s R&D Planning seeks input from you, the building industry, to ensure that its R&D and technical support projects are aligned with industry. The workshop included a comprehensive overview of our technology development projects, and sought prioritization input from industry regarding our window rating and tool development activities.

On March 2, 2006, the U.S. DOE held an open session at the 69th Annual American Architectural Manufacturers Association Meeting. This meeting was open to everyone, whether or not you attended the AAMA meeting.

The key objective was to learn about DOE Window R&D technology development activities, get an update on current technology projects, and provide input to help DOE solidify priorities for future R&D support to the building industry. A draft agenda is posted now and other supporting materials were added here before, during and after the meeting.

For your reference, we have included a link to the materials from our last Roadmap update workshop at the October 2003 AAMA meeting under the Get Materials button below. You also will see a link to the last Roadmap presentation that was made at the WDMA meeting in May 2005. You may also find that the Fact Sheets and other related information accessible from the Summary and Report button to be useful. We encourage you to add comments to the Forum before, during and after the workshop to ensure continual two-way dialogue.
