One of DOE’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) recipients, the dynamic windows company Soladigm has announced the receipt of new capital financing (see PDF below). With large financing going to Sage and Soladigm this past year, DOE envisions a competitive market for dynamic windows in the future. Lower cost dynamic windows should enter the market in the 2012 to 2014 timeframe. Unfamiliar with dynamic windows? Dynamic windows can electronically switch from clear to tinted on demand, reducing heat and glare within buildings while providing greater occupant comfort and cooling savings. You can also see several presentations on this blog that shows more about dynamic windows.
