Clean Cities recently became the latest EERE Web site to develop a mobile site. This site, which is optimized for viewing on Web-enabled mobile devices, contains select information for people who want to quickly check key EERE transportation information while they're on the go. The site includes links to the Alternative Fueling Station Locator, Truck Stop Electrification Site Locator, and FuelEconomy.gov .

Other EERE mobile sites include the EERE mobile home page and the Building Technologies Program Mobile site.

Many of the Programs and Offices are interested in developing mobile versions of their sites, and we're happy to announce that we're currently working on new standards for these kinds of Web sites. But if you just can't wait, here's a sneak peak at some of the technical requirements for EERE mobile sites:

  • The EERE mobile header image is required on all pages.
  • EERE mobile site URLs follow this construction: "eere.energy.gov/PROGRAM/m/". (For example: eere.energy.gov/buildings/m/)
  • Programs may use their marketing URLs to promote their mobile sites (For example: buildings.energy.gov/m/).
  • Your mobile home page should include a link to your full (non-mobile) site and the EERE mobile home page.

If you have any other questions about developing a mobile site, feel free to leave a comment here on the blog.
