Office of Management and Budget policy now requires that contact information be included on all federal agency public Web sites. To help EERE Web site managers meet this requirement, new contact information standards have been posted on the Communications Standards Web site.

The new standards page details elements that must be included on each Web site's Contacts page and contact links that must be included on all EERE Web pages. The requirements are:


  • Every EERE Web site must include a "Contacts" page. It is usually placed in the "About" section and listed in the left navigation. The contacts page should include the organization mailing address and phone number(s) as well as an e-mail address.
  • Every EERE Web site must link to EERE's e-mail policy and privacy statement. This is included as part of the security and privacy notices that are linked to from the footer of every EERE Web page.
  • Every EERE Web page must include a Webmaster link in the footer. This link may connect to a standard Webmaster page or open an blank e-mail addressed to the Webmaster.
