On July 13, 2010, the EERE Web Team presented the redesign implementation process to EERE Web Coordinators. This information is now available on the Communication Standards Web site and includes:
- An audio recording of the hour-long meeting
- Meeting slides
- Sample wireframes and mockups illustrating the new program home page structure
- Details on the processes and schedule for implementing the new template throughout the EERE Web enterprise
Web sites in the OpenText Content Management System will undergo two processes for moving into the new template: Refacing and re-architecting. All program sites must complete the refacing process by Sept. 30, 2010.
In refacing, the colors, fonts, and most graphics will be updated to match the new template design. Each program will be responsible for creating a new home page that matches the new template's design and structure.
The new template includes providing a consistent style for how content on program home pages is displayed, including Flash, feature graphics, and font colors and sizes. Your home page content will determine the new styling for your home page. Sample wireframes demonstrating how content fits into the new home page structure are available on the Communication Standards Web site.
In the coming weeks, we'll be contacting each program with details about the schedule and process for completing refacing by the end of this fiscal year. See the Communication Standards Web site for more information and details about refacing and re-architecting.
