We've recently updated EERE's Linking Policy to make it clearer and easier to understand. The Linking Policy explains how and when you can link to any Web site outside of EERE and, as a site-wide policy, it can be found in the footer of every page on EERE, in the EERE Web Policies.

It's worth clarifying that EERE follows the U.S. Department of Energy's Linking Policy. EERE's own policy specifically addresses how external links should relate to and support your content.

The Linking Policy is especially important for those of you who manage EERE Webmaster accounts. If you've ever dealt with them, you know that EERE gets an awful lot of requests to add links to other Web sites. And while most requests are very easy to answer, it's always useful to have a policy to show to these requestors.

If you have any questions about the new policy, feel free to leave a comment here on the blog!
