FirstGov.gov, the official portal of the U.S. government, is changing its name to USA.gov. OMB requires that all federal Web sites update their links from FirstGov.gov to USA.gov NO EARLIER than January 11th and NO LATER than January 18th. In addition, any links to Espanol.gov should be changed to GobiernoUSA.gov.
For sites in the EERE RedDot content management system or on the NREL server, you do not need to take any action. The change from FirstGov.gov to USA.gov will be made for you on January 11th—you will notice the change in the footer of your EERE site.
If your sites are NOT in RedDot or on the NREL server, your contractors will need to make this change manually by January 18th, when the USA.gov site is officially launched. See the EERE Standards site for more information. If you have any questions about this update, please contact Allison Hartfiel.
