I wouldn't call it a career,but I do alot of personal research on 'alternative' energy.I feel that the more people working/thinking on this issue the better.It's most definitely crunch time!

I have decided to start a business as an eco-consultant, someone who isn't a contractor or engineer, but who can help homeowners 'green' their homes. I need to find a course that can give me enough information and confidence to meet with people in their homes and conduct a relatively thorough energy audit/inspection. I have a real estate management background, so am quite familiar with construction and home systems.

I've been a passive participant in the renewable energy movement for almost 20 years, and now, after having moved to the country from the city and adopting the homesteading lifestyle, am absolutely passionate about building zero energy homes. I'm taking some workshops, and studying every website I can find, to develop a plan for today's most efficient ways of building single family homes. But, I realize that there needs to be some kind of accredibility - and that's what I'm looking for now.

I am currently a Florida state certified AC contractor so I presently am involved in an energy career. I am looking forward to helping consumers at home and work become more energy effecient by upgrading their central AC systems, especially now that the Gov,t is helping with such large energy tax credits.

Yes' its been 20 years ago since I have Installed My first solar electric system on two single family homes one 18kw and 15kw surge. These were in N.H. I also built an electric V.W. (volts wagon). This is what I was able to do. That means We can all do something. So let's stop talking and start doing something. Start with your carbon Foot Print.
