Financial assistance- including grants and cooperative agreements used to transfer money, property or services to the recipient in order to accomplish a public purpose of support or stimulation- is one way EERE puts policy goals into practice, helping to stimulate the US economy. EERE grants and cooperative agreements empower states, counties, universities, private companies, and others across the country to leverage their own resources for a vast array of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. Expediting the Decision Process for Awards with Stage Gate Requirements

They must do so in a way that is both deliberative yet at a pace conducive to the development and commercialization of new technologies.
