The MIT Clean Energy Prize is forming strong ties with partner universities and organizations throughout the Northeast in order to create an inclusive and representative competition that capitalizes on regional strengths in clean energy innovation. The MIT CEP is pleased to announce partnerships with Harvard University, Tufts University, Boston University, Babson College, the University of Connecticut, Columbia University, the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, and Carnegie Mellon University and is continuing to develop new partnerships each week. The MIT CEP has been excited to learn about partner programs’ ideas for raising student awareness, generating excitement, and facilitating team formation in their respective local communities and using unique resources to appeal to student communities throughout the region. Partner programs will also play a critical role in securing mentors and judges that faithfully represent the wide scope of clean energy entrepreneurship in the Northeast. Additionally, the MIT CEP all-student organizing team includes student organizers from several regional schools in the Greater Boston area and continues to grow.

The first entry date for the MIT CEP is March 2nd, 2012 (midnight). Submission requirements are a two-page executive summary and 12-slide pitch deck, submitted into one of three clean energy categories: Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, or Deployment & Infrastructure. The competition will culminate with the Grand Prize judging round on April 30, 2012, followed by a public clean energy showcase of all 21 semi-finalist teams, a keynote address, and VIP reception to celebrate the hard work of all participants, judges, mentors and organizers.
