The Georgia World Congress Center recently got a $2.3 million stimulus grant for a major lighting retrofit and controls system upgrade. The grant, secured through the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority and its state energy program, was funded through the U.S. Department of Energy as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The GWCC will use the grant to replace nearly 1,500 lighting fixtures in the convention center’s 12 exhibit halls.
