Union County, in the northeast corner of New Mexico right next to Oklahoma, has completed the implementation phase of its energy efficiency project for its WPA-era courthouse.
Since the courthouse has a historic designation, creative engineering was called for. A new heating and cooling system was installed by delivering the entire system through the courthouse's crawl space and attic space.
Project Manager Rick Martinez visited the project to speak with employees within the courthouse and reports that everyone couldn't be happier with the results; the system is clean, comfortable, quiet and energy efficient. The savings for Union County will be realized immediately.
