Orion Energy Gets Stimulus Funds for Solar Panels
Using State Energy Program funds, Orion Energy- a Manitowoc-based provider of energy efficient lighting systems and energy management services, is installing photovoltaic systems to generate renewable electricity. DeForest Facility to Recycle Metals for Solar Industry
Montreal-based 5N Plus Inc. will open a 60,500-square foot manufacturing facility in DeForest that will recycle metal coatings used in production of solar panels. The $4,139,000 project will create 16 jobs and is receiving assistance from the State Energy Program with a $500,000 loan. 5N Plus specializes in the production and purification of elements and compounds, such as cadmium telluride. Ohio Makes $8 Million Available for Biofuels Equipment
The Ohio Department of Development is using $8 million in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, to help biodiesel and ethanol companies fund new or additional refining equipment. As part of the Advancing Biofuels Beyond the Basics program, the state can award any amount from $500,000 up to $1 million for each applicant. Click here to read more about this story.
